From field geometry to bent aluminum profiles.
The challenge
Accurate geometry is essential for curved architectural openings and curtain-wall components. The contractor needed to understand the existing structure before manufacturing curved aluminum members. Conventional drawings alone could not confirm the as-built geometry.
SpotOn’s approach
SpotOn used a FARO laser scanner to capture the curved openings and curtain-wall interfaces on site. The measurements documented the constructed geometry and provided the basis for planning the aluminum elements.
What we delivered
The project went beyond scanning: SpotOn also carried out bending of 120 mm curtain-wall columns, linking the site survey to the production of curved aluminum profiles.
Value to the client
Combining surveying expertise with profile-bending capabilities helps coordinate the measurement and manufacturing stages and reduces uncertainty about the shape of components required on site.
